Information Design - refers to the design of presenting data and or information with the number one priority of presenting it in the easiest most efficient way that a user can absorb it. Information designed systems generally have present data in a way that tends to mimic the way humans learn thus making it the most efficient delivery of the data.

Instructional Design - is similar to Information Design in the sense that its priority in design is to most efficiently deliver the information to the user, the only main difference is that Instructional Design is displaying “how to do something” as apposed to regular data or information.

Interactive Design Definition

Interactive Design is the act of defining user behaviour in an attempt to develop systems and products that successfully interact with the user. Interactive design has become far more predominant within day-to-day living. This for example is due to the increased incorporation of portable media devices that allows users to carry immediate access to such platforms for interactive design like mobile PDA’s and portable Internet. With increase access to such media platforms it is more important that when users explore such platforms like the Internet or software applications on such a regular basis that they are met with a product and/or system that tends to their direct/immediate needs and capabilities.

Web 2.0 was considered to be the new generation of internet use, that incorporated the next generation of web users not only receiving information from the web but along with new web based applications as part of Web 2.0 users are now able to utilize the web as a platform of self expression. Web 2.0 hasn’t just given endless power to the individual web user but it has created a whole new world for business opportunities. Web 2.0 is ultimately the term given to the user applications that have evolved from the time period in which the Internet has finally begun to be used in the way in which it was originally intended to.
