Web 2.0 Definition

Web 2.0 was a term created at a conference in 2004 to describe the new perception people had on the use of the Internet as a platform of greater use than to just receive information with. Web 2.0 was considered to be the new generation of internet use, that incorporated the next generation of web users not only receiving information from the web but along with new web based applications as part of Web 2.0 users are now able to utilize the web as a platform of self expression. Web 2.0 hasn’t just given endless power to the individual web user but it has created a whole new world for business opportunities. Web 2.0 is ultimately the term given to the user applications that have evolved from the time period in which the Internet has finally begun to be used in the way in which it was originally intended to.
